Chocolate Puffs

I made some chocolate puffs tonight & they were actually really good,my whole family loved them.

6 snack size Three Musketeers
6 Big & Flaky Crescent Rolls
3/4 cup melted butter

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Remove the rolls from the package & lay all of them flat. Unwrap the candy bars & place one bar per roll at the widest end. Roll them up making sure all gaps are sealed. Place them into an oiled muffin tin. Brush with the butter & bake for 10 minutes. Serve warm.

These were really rich, gooey & nom nom nommy!! They'd also be great with any candy bar I'm sure. Next time I'm going to use reese cup minis!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope all of you had a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter, joy & lots of good food.

I have been WAY out of the blogging game for awhile & for that I apologize. Being a full time student & a full time (first time) mom hasn't left me with energy to do much of anything lately except spend time with Frost, do school work & watch TV about an hour a night to unwind.

I bought two domains back in the spring, one for my mommy blog & one for me to write about culinary school, post recipes & food related awesomeness...but I haven't got around to doing anything with them as of yet. I hope to be able to soon however...
Once someone reveals to me the great secrets of time management, lol

I would love to be able to blog every day, or at least several times a week but I tend to get easily side tracked with off-line life, so I won't make any promises I can not keep. I will simply say that I fully intend to give it my best shot & attempt to write at least twice a week.

The Good & The Bad

I realize that my blog has been lacking a lot these past 6 months & for that I apologize. I've missed being able to update my blog & I've missed being able to read over some of my favorite blogs.

During my 8th month of pregnancy the hubby & I lost our home & have been staying with family ever since. I didn't have internet access so blogging was not an option. During that time we also lost our dog Bowser. Nearly two months later Bowser was reunited with us, only to have him get hit by a truck soon after. We've been heartbroken at all of our seemingly "bad luck" these past few months. I'm not going to go into anymore details but it has been a really tough time for us. The only thing that's keeping us going is our wonderful little (nearly 6 month old) daughter, Emberlynn Frost McConaha. She's by far the light of our life.

It seems that things may slowly be starting to get back on track for us though, my mom & I are about to start school in April. We're going to the local tech school to get our Culinary Arts diploma. We're both pretty excited about that. I'm also starting to help my best friend with some of her blog template designs because I can really use the extra cash.

I don't really have much else to say at the moment, but I promise I'll keep updating as much as possible since I have internet again! :-)

The Last House On The Left...Left Me Speechless

I saw the preview for "The Last House On The Left" a week or so ago & thought it looked awesome. I've really been wanting to watch it. My little sister & her boyfriend rented it & said that it "Started off making you think you'd wasted your money but it got better"

Well...they've never had the best taste in movies...

So tonight Hubby & I cooked pizza & curled up on the couch, taking a break from our WoW playing to order it on Direct TV.

It didn't take too long for it to kick in & when it did it didn't let go till the explosive ending. I'm totally blown away by this flick. It's without a doubt one of the BEST movies to be remade. (granted I didn't see the original, but from what I've heard that's a good thing) Hell I think it's one of the best thriller/suspense movies to come outta Hollywood in a long long time. It takes a lot to get me on the edge of my seat when it comes to movies but with this one I literally was sitting on the edge of the couch, lol.

So if you're looking for an over the top adrenaline rush that's actually very believable then you NEED to watch this movie asap!

*There is one extremely painful scene to watch, not for the faint of heart, I couldn't watch it & brought me to sob like a baby. You've been warned

Darkness & Light

Tuesday afternoon my step-dad finally passed away due to cancer. I'd went to see him a few days before & he looked so horrible, I've never seen anything like it & I hope to never have to again. He was totally out of it due to being on so many pain meds & he looked like a barely living skeleton with saggy skin. It was the most horrible thing I think I've ever seen. I was so upset about it, that I kept having to run to the bathroom & just cry & cry. Guess it's a good thing I'm 8 months pregnant because everyone just thought I kept having to go potty. I'm happy that he's no longer suffering & I suppose that's why I'm not nearly as upset about his passing. The funeral was Thursday & afterwards I ended up just going back to my aunts with my mom & sister & staying there until Saturday after my baby shower.

My baby shower was nice, granted pretty unorganized & odd, but still nice. It was just more or less a family gathering with finger foods & gifts, lol. My little Frost got tons upon tons of clothes. My mother said "I've NEVER EVER been to a baby shower & seen someone walk away with so many new outfits & other stuff for their baby!!" So I think my little Frosty will be set for her first few months anyway.

Also last week I was informed via email that I won two more blog contests, wow that's now 4 contests I've won in less than two months!! I've never won any kind of contest until recently, lol, I should play the lottery or something!! Granted I'm winning small things here & there but it makes me happy & gives me hope that things will get better for myself, the hubby & our families.

A Little Bit Of Light

Even though things seem to just keep going horribly wrong for me & hubby these past few weeks there is a tiny bit of light shining down in this dark hole right now.

Quietly Still Here

I know that I have not posted in a few weeks & I apologize for that. I just have not really had anything to blog about of interest lately. Things in the real world haven't been going so smoothly the past month or so & I'd rather not blog than blog about depressing things.

The only bit of good news I really have is that the baby's due (thank god!) in a little over a month & everything still seems to be going great!!

The hubby & I are going to spend the weekend with some of his family at a beach house for his birthday tomorrow, maybe i'll get some nifty pics or come back with a funny story to share!

A Few New Things

So I haven't really updated in a while. I apologize. There's been a few things going on & I haven't really had much time to do so.

I have finally found a way to work from home, online that pays really well, compared to everything else that I've tried over the last 6yrs. I've been doing that for the past week & have made $210 thus far.

I also started a new blog that will be updated on occasion. It's an adult oriented blog for all of you sexual mamma's out there. Hey just cause we're mommy doesn't mean we're dead!!

RhodaRose Review & Giveaway!!

Last week I was delighted to receive some yummy home made chocolate dipped treats from The Rhoda Rose Etsy Shop!!
I was in the process of cooking dinner when there was a knock at the door. To my delight it was the UPS guy with a box filled with yummy goodies. What a nice surprise for dessert!

I got two sampler packs one with white chocolate & one with milk chocolate dipped treats. The professional packaging contained dipped pretzel sticks, dipped knotted pretzels, little pretzel bites covered in chocolate, chocolate covered grahm crackers & (My personal fav!) choco dipped marshmallows covered in grahm cracker dust!! YUMMY!!

Now let me say it again...YUUUUUUUMY!!!!!

The milk chocolate goodies were pretty much non-existent after that first night. I'm a huge sweets fan & being pregnant has only seemed to increase it by 100%. I just can't seem to get enough sweets! I honestly don't know how I've managed to only gain weight in the tummy!!

I have two white chocolate knotted pretzels left in the fridge, I finished off the last of the milk chocolate a few minutes ago. The last one I ate was so adorable with white, black & hot pink sprinkles on it. I wish I had of known about this Etsy shop back in November because those were my wedding colors! I would have loved to give out little yummy goodies as wedding favors!

If I had the extra cash I certainly would buy some for my baby shower! :-D
